Modification of the Law<\/strong>: The Argentine government is working on a new Consumer Defense code that will address e-commerce and artificial intelligence, with the aim of updating the current 30-year-old legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warranty Extension<\/strong>The proposal is to extend the legal product warranty from 6 months to 2 years, which will be a consumer right at no additional cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fines Regime<\/strong>For companies, a regime of payment of fines will be incorporated to 50%, allowing to close the procedure in Justice if they choose to pay half of the amount charged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

E-commerce and AI<\/strong>The code will seek to equalize the rights of online consumers with traditional ones and legislate on the use of artificial intelligence in consumption, limiting artificial sales campaigns and reputational rating.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
